Filipino students who won in 2008 Science Fair going to US
Ten high school students will head for Atlanta, Georgia this summer to represent the country in Intel's annual Science and Engineering Fair.
Intel held an exhibit Friday in Tagaytay City showcasing the 113 science projects selected in this year's finals. This year's winners included two teams -- one from the Philippine Science High School (PSHS) in Quezon City and Gingoog City National High School from Misamis Oriental.
The PSHS team won for their research project that involves the construction of a mechanical prototype of a "micro tremor" recorder. The team from Gingoog City, meanwhile, won for its comparative study of mangrove species in Pangasihon Forest in their province.
