Filipino WW II veterans victory

Great victory to our beloved Filipino soldier of World War II that waited for a long period of time as the war. The war for their claims that they fought for a decade, finally they will have their victorious day.

On Feb. 19, US President Barack Obama signed into law the measure known as the Economic Stimulus Package Law that includes a provision recognizing the military service of Filipino veterans in WWII.

Under the law, surviving Filipino veterans who had become US citizens would get $15,000 while those in the Philippines would receive $9,000.

This is a great victory with our fellow Filipino that waited for a long period of time. Finally they will have their price not only the pension they will have but the moral of the past war too.

In a report to the Department of Foreign Affairs, Philippine Ambassador to Washington Willy Gaa said the veterans assisted embassy staff in presenting certificates of appreciation to the lawmakers at a reception held at the Cannon House Office Building on Capitol Hill in Washington, DC.
