32nd Milo Marathon Iloilo Elimination Race.
Once again Iloilo City hosted the 32nd Milo Marathon, now on its 5th year in the city. About 7,000 runners participated in the annual running competition which kicks off at the Freedom Grandstand.
The 32nd National MILO Marathon will showcase the following events: 3K kiddie run is Open to children, 5K fun run for 6 to 12 years old who will be divided into four age brackets: 1-a (Boys) – 6 to 9 years old, 1-b (Girls) – 6 to 9 years old, 1-b (Boys) – 10 to 12 years old and 1-b (Girls) 10 to 12 years old., 10K run (Metro Manila leg), 21K half marathon for the provincial elimination races and 42.195K open Metro Manila elimination race and a 42.195K final race. Complementing these are the other fun events like the biggest school delegation contest, the inter-school running team competition and the cheer dance competition.
For its 32nd offering, the National MILO Marathon will stage elimination races in Manila, Tarlac, Cebu and Davao simultaneously — a first in the history of the country’s longest and most prestigious running event.
Scheduled on August 3, the simultaneous staging shows the commitment of MILO to further raise awareness about running and its many health benefits.
Aside from the four key cities, the marathon will also make its way to Batangas on February 3, Palawan on February 10, Angeles on February 17 and General Santos on February 24. After a three-month break, marathon action will resume in Dumaguete on June 22, Bacolod on June 29, Iloilo on July 6, Roxas on July 13, Legazpi on August 10, Naga on August 17, San Pablo on August 24, Tacloban on August 31, Tagbilaran on September 7, San Fernando on September 14, Laoag on September 21, Santiago on September 28, Baguio on October 5, Dipolog on October 12, Iligan on October 19, Cagayan de Oro on October 26 and Butuan on November 9. The National Finals will be in Manila on November 30.
