The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor

‘The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor’ awakes in Asia

It started in Egypt, then caused a stir in Britain. Now, “The Mummy” lands in Asia to create more ruckus, chaos and action.

In the third installment of “The Mummy” adventure franchise series, “The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor” sees Rick O’Connell (Brendan Fraser) returning with his son Alex (Luke Ford) to combat the resurrected Emperor Han (Jet Li).

Set in the catacombs of ancient China then moving to the neon-lit streets of post-war Shanghai and then high into the Himalayas, this film revolves around the O’Connells battling their way left and right to save the world after Rick’s son Alex is tricked into awakening the Chinese ruler from eternal slumber.

Joined by his mother Evelyn (Mario Bello) and uncle Jonathan (John Hannah), the O’Connells are doomed by sorceress Zi Yuan (Michelle Yeoh) to spend eternity in suspended animation while they fight China’s ruthless Dragon Emperor and his 10,000 warriors known as the silent terra cotta army.

Unless the O’Connell family can stop the evil wrath of the Emperor Mummy, a peaceful world would cease to exist.

The amazing cultural fusion of the cast includes new characters. These include Ming Guo, sorceress Zi Yuan’s love interest and the Emperor’s loyal servant played by Russell Wong; Maguire, Rick O’Connell's old friend and pilot played by Liam Cunningham; and Lin, the Emperor’s ageless tomb guardian played by Isabella Leong.

Universal Pictures’ “The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor” is distributed internationally by United International Pictures and in the Philippines by Solar Entertainment Corporation.
