President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo signed proclamation number 1521 on May 28, 2008. Declaring June as information and communications technology month.
Several years ago the June has been traditionally celebrates as ICT month. Only this year that the Palace passed a proclamation whereas June was declared as ICT month. Some regions in the country will have there respective celebrations scheduled in connection with the ICT month. Ceb will holding the Philippine Open Source Summit this month and Iloilo Foundation for ICT is also set to hold ICT week starting June 24.
Commission on Information and Communications Technology (CICT) is leading the celebration of ICT month. Every ICT organizations are encourage to join and come up with the highlight ICT in schools and government agencies for more involvement in the connection with the celebration.
